Anxiety Disorder (including OCD)
Anxiety Disorders, including Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), are a group of mental health conditions characterized by excessive fear, worry, or nervousness that interferes with daily functioning. These disorders can manifest through physical symptoms such as restlessness, rapid heartbeat, muscle tension, and difficulty concentrating.
OCD is a specific type of anxiety disorder marked by persistent, unwanted thoughts (obsessions) and repetitive behaviors or mental acts (compulsions) performed to reduce distress or prevent feared outcomes. Individuals with anxiety disorders may recognize that their fears are irrational but feel powerless to control them.
Anxiety disorders can significantly impact quality of life, but they are treatable with approaches such as therapy, medication, and lifestyle strategies tailored to each individual’s needs.
